Overview of the issue
Currently is not possible to translate external links in Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) when the field group is set to ”Same fields across languages” mode.
Workaround
- Go to ACF > Field Groups page
- Edit Field Group: Access the ACF field group settings.
- Switch to Expert Mode: Change the configuration to ”Expert” mode.
- Adjust Translation Preferences: For each URL field, set the “Translation Preferences” to ”Translate.”
- Trigger Translation Job: Make a minor edit to the original page/post to generate a new translation job.
- Check Translation Availability: The URLs should now be available for translation in the WPML Translation Editor.
