Overview of the issue

In some themes, that come bundled with a visual builder for pages, using a child theme prevents the loading of our latest version of the wpml-config.xml file. This file is responsible for recognizing shortcodes used in a theme.

Workaround

To overcome this issue, download one of the wpml-config.xml files found below, appropriate for the theme you are using, and place it in your custom child theme’s folder.

If your parent theme uses a page builder that relies on shortcodes, and you want to have them recognized in the WPML Translation Editor, please refer to the Page builder content section on the page about language configuration files.

Also, be sure to read the documentation page about integrating WPML with page builders that use shortcodes.
