Overview of the issue
Custom data belonging to a taxonomy (categories, tags, custom product attributes, etc.) doesn’t get copied automatically or translated into secondary languages.
You might encounter this issue if you use the following themes or plugins:
- Avada: Avada sliders settings are not copied into translations
- Vega (by Xtemos)
- Password Protected Categories
- WooCommerce Protected Categories
Workaround
Our team is working to remove this limitation. In the meantime, the simplest workaround is to add the missing information from the taxonomies yourself on the translated version of your taxonomy elements:
- Edit your taxonomy.
- Click the language switcher in the top admin bar language switcher and switch to the other language.
- Add the missing content.
