WPML 5.0 Beta – A Redesigned Experience and Smarter Automatic Translation
WPML 5.0 is the biggest update we’ve shipped in years.
We’ve just released WPML String Translation 3.2.16 to address issues with loading translations from themes and plugins caused by changes in WordPress 6.7.
In the meantime, we have released WPML String Translation 3.2.17 which fixes missing translations for sites that use a custom locale, for example de_DE_formal.
WPML does not cause these issues.
These issues occur only on some sites and usually affect certain languages randomly.
Texts (strings) from some themes and plugins may appear in English instead of the translated language when using your site in languages other than English.
This happens because WordPress changed how it loads .mo files and this mechanism doesn’t load anymore for some third-party themes and plugins.
If your site is experiencing such issues, update it to WPML String Translation 3.2.17:
