Translate Every Gravity Forms Form

Gravity Forms’ full field catalogue translates with one pass through WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor. Text, paragraph, dropdown, radio, checkbox, multi-choice – plus the field families Gravity Forms made famous: Pricing Fields (Product, Quantity, Total, Shipping), Product Fields, List fields, Digital Signatures, File Uploads, and dropdowns with Dynamic field options. Gravity Forms 2.9 Multiple Choice and Image Choice field labels translate too.

Conversational Forms, Paginated Forms, and Save & Continue All Translate

Gravity Forms’ Conversational forms (the sequential one-question-at-a-time mode) translate every prompt, every transition, and the progress copy. Paginated forms translate page by page. Page headings, page-break titles, and Conditional Logic that branches across pages all appear in the translation job. Save & Continue resume-link emails arrive in the visitor’s language.

Visitors See Gravity Forms in Their Language

When a visitor lands on a French page, the form renders in French: field labels, placeholders, drop-down options, HTML field content, and the submit-button label. Conditional Logic survives translation: choice values stay aligned across languages so show/hide rules keep firing on the same data.

Per-Field Validation Messages Translate

Every Gravity Forms field has its own Validation Message setting: “This field is required”, “Please enter a valid email”, “The number is too high”. Each one appears as a row in the Advanced Translation Editor. Visitors get errors in their own language. Global validation banners (“There was a problem with your submission. Please review the fields below.”) translate through WPML String Translation.

Confirmations Translate – Text, Redirect, and Page

Gravity Forms supports three Confirmation types and GFML covers them all. Text confirmations translate inline. Page confirmations let you redirect to a translated page so the visitor stays in their language. Redirect confirmations let you set a per-language URL so off-site thank-you pages stay multilingual.

Notifications and Notification Routing Translate

Gravity Forms Notifications translate per language: To Email, From Name, Subject, body templates, and merge-tag inserts ({Name}, {Email}, {All Fields}). Notification routing rules send each submission to different recipients based on field values. They survive choice-label translation, so the rules keep firing on the right rows in every language. Partial entries emails translate alongside the rest.

Integration Add-Ons Receive Translated Submissions

When a visitor submits a form in French, the Gravity Forms add-on that pushes the submission to Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Zapier, Slack, or your Webhooks endpoint receives the translated visitor input – name and message in the visitor’s language. Mapped list and pipeline labels translate too, so downstream automations key off the right strings.

Forms Read Natively in Every Language With PTC

Translating a Gravity Forms form is genuinely difficult work. A typical form mixes many short, decontextualised strings:

  • Short labels like Name, Email, Quantity, Total.
  • Dropdown choice values that drive Conditional Logic.
  • Conversational-form prompts that need to read like a one-question-at-a-time conversation.
  • Notification subject lines and body templates with merge tags inside prose.
  • Per-field validation messages that exist as standalone fragments.

Classic machine translation looks at each string by itself. The result reads as awkward, inconsistent, or quietly wrong on the short labels.

PTC – WPML’s AI translation works with the full context of your site. PTC knows that a Pricing Field label sits next to a quantity selector. It knows that a Conditional Logic value has to match a routing rule. It knows that a Confirmation message follows submission. It knows that a Notification subject line goes to the form owner.

The result reads like the form was built natively in each language. Same tone. Consistent terminology across the form and the email it sends. No awkward literalisms in the short labels.

Built and Maintained as a Current Gravity Forms Compatibility Plugin

GFML keeps up with Gravity Forms releases. Gravity Forms 2.9’s new field types (Multiple Choice and Image Choice) were added in GFML 1.8.3 (Sep 2025). Compatibility is confirmed on the joint Gravity Forms compatibility page.

GFML Is Included With WPML

GFML ships with Multilingual CMS and WPML Agency. No separate purchase. Buy WPML once and every Gravity Forms site your account covers gets multilingual. If you already have WPML, activate GFML from your WPML downloads page.
